Mrs.
Kubiak’s
5th
grade class
In
Math, we are working on decimals and converting
them into equivalent fractions. We continue to
work on our problem solving skills.
In Reading, we have started a novel and continue
to enhance our learning with many supplemental
activities. We are reading library books and will
be completing a book report about every two
weeks. We are going to complete filmstrips about
our latest library books. They will be on
display in our classroom window soon.
In English, we will continue with the many aspects
of the writing process. We are also working
on our sentence structure, sequencing skills,
predicates and nouns.
In
Social Studies, we have completed the map skills
section. We have started learning the
various regions of the United States. We are
learning about the physical features,
industry and economy throughout the regions.
We also realize the importance of studying
geography and history together.
We
have started the bullying program and work with
the other fifth grade. This will be very
helpful and we enjoy the role-playing part of the
lessons.
It
was great to have so many parents attend the
Parent Orientation. I want to remind you to
feel free to call me with any questions or
concerns. We need to work together so that
each student can reach his or her full potential.
