Welcome to Mr. Lemmon’s
Class Website,
This
year, I have been assigned to teach three math
classes in addition to the music classes; the 8th
grade Pre-algebra class and two separate 6th
grade math classes. I am also assigned to assist
with reading fluency for tier 3 RTI students in
grades 6-8.
The
math classes meet in room nine. The reading
students meet in the music room.
First
through fourth grade students will now have music
class only one time a week, instead of the
customary two times a week, with both second
grades coming to music class together instead of
separately.
The 5th
grade class will also have music only once a week.
The 6th
and 8th graders will now have music for
the second semester.
The 7th
graders no longer have music.
In the
reading class;
I will
be providing assistance in reading fluency.
In the
math classes;
8th
graders are learning like terms and variables.
Next, they will be graphing linear equations.
The 6th
graders will be starting a unit on geometry.
In the
music classes;
1st
and 2nd graders are learning some basic
musical concepts plus learning the instruments of
the orchestra.
3rd
and 4th graders will be learning songs
on the recorder.
5th
graders will be learning about Folk, Jazz, Country
and Rock music styles.
6th
graders will be doing a unit on classical music.
8th
graders will be doing a unit on jazz history.
The Bands and Choirs are
preparing for the May 6th Spring
Concert.
