8th Grade History We
are traveling through time, beginning with the
conflicts leading to the Civil War.
We are leaning about our country’s
hard times as well as new territories and
industries that are so important to our culture.
We will be participating in the Stock
Market Game in January.
We will form teams, where we will buy,
sell, and trade stocks using technology.
This includes research and learning about
how the Corporate world works.
7th Grade History Began learning
about the Ancient world, and how trade has
expanded throughout the years.
We are currently learning about the
Original 13 Colonies, how they were created and
governed.
We researched the Presidential election,
and learned about the candidate’s process and
how our elections work.
The students were surprised that Electoral
votes could determine our Presidential winner.
We will begin studying the Constitution
after winter break.
The art room has been busy this fall.
The seventh grade art classes participated
in the Lions Club Peace poster contest.
The theme “Peace begins with me” was a
difficult one, but the students came through.
The Lions sponsored a dinner for the
participants and their families to announce the
winners. Thank
you Lions Club.

All
the classes are doing a variety of projects that
reflect the time of year. The primary grades are concentrating on skills as well as
learning the elements of art.
They learned about line, form,
shape, and color theory while creating
pieces of art that align with the Illinois
Learning Standards.
WHEW!
We will continue to create seasonal
artwork, as well as cultural projects that reflect
traditions from earlier times, and other parts of
the world.
We are always looking for new materials
that can be used in the Art room.
