6^th Grade

Reading

Hooray!  It’s ISAT time.  Mrs. Wyman loves preparing for ISAT’s because it gives all of us a chance to make sure that we have hit every single state standard.  Hopefully, the students will come to love our ISAT prep as well.  (We’re going to be playing football and baseball with our reading!)

English

The students began the year studying the sentence.  We have progressed on through our textbook through verbs and modifiers.   Presently the students are learning the finer points of narrative and persuasive essays.  Every week the students will have a different spelling unit due.  They should finish the entire book, including the cycles by the end of the year.  We should also complete all of the grammar in the English book.  In September, the students will begin studying nouns.

Social Studies

The Sixth grade Medieval Times unit has begun!  There will be a large project due in February on the Middle Ages.  Then we should conclude our studies with a banquet!

7^th Reading
